Review from one of our guests
“5/5! Thank you Liisa and Mikko! You were very welcoming and made check-in super easy. To say we had a wonderful stay at the Villa Rakka would be an understatement.
We went there with my parents to make a lifelong dream of my mother come true. But the villa offered more than expected. Yes, the place was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described. You can easily fit 2 families (with 4 adults and 4 children). But the location is completely perfect. You’re based a 15-minute drive from Saariselkä, the main ski area, but far enough removed to not have any light pollution, as it’s completely dark which helps you see the northern lights from the windows of the villa.
Moreover, you’re based super close to the actual spots for outdoor activities like husky rides (5-minute drive), reindeer sleigh rides (8-minute drive), snowmobile tours (15-minute drive).
You’re also right in the woods, perfect for hiking. And since you’re next to Kiilopää, one of the highest peaks in the Saariselkä area of Finnish Lapland, you get amazing views on these hikes.
Mikko nailed the meaning of life: when you do something, do it well. Right next to the villa sits a traditional Finnish outdoor sauna (on top of the modern one inside), unexpected and a real rarity in the villa’s we were looking at. It even has a Lapland room for your personal use, a cozy non-heated spot with a central fire for chatting late into the night or grilling meats. We’ve spent countless evenings there, just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.
I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!”
